For a 100W lamp, the recommended replacement time is every 700 to 1000 hours, while 160W should be replaced every 600 to 800 hours and 200W lamps are replaced every 500 to 700 hours. Face tanner lamps, on the other hand, are replaced every 500 to 700 hours.
The function of tanning lamps is quite obvious to most people, they provide the rays that induce a person’s skin to create more pigment and produce a tan. While lamps are easy to understand in terms of function, some consumers are not sure what some of the parts are for. For example, the buck boosters. A buck booster, for those who are not familiar with this part, regulates the electric power and supplies the tanning bed with the right voltage to operate safely and effectively. This device is needed because the voltage coming out of the wall can vary depending on where the bed is in relation to the power station.
