Tanning Bed BulbsWhen you are shopping for tanning bed bulbs, there is quite a bit of information to consider before making your selection. Buying tanning bed bulbs is not like buying regular light bulbs for your home. You must choose the ones that are safest for you to use, and ones that work with the tanning bed that you have. Tanning bed bulbs emit two different types of rays – UVA rays and UVB rays. UVA rays cause the skin to age faster, and they are also the rays that help tan the skin. UVB rays cause skin burning. However, not all beds use the bulbs that emit both types of rays. You can find saloons that operate only UVA beds, but they are few and far between because these types of beds are a great deal more expensive than the UVA/UVB beds. No matter which type of bed or bulbs you are using, it is vitally important that you develop a base tan before going for that deep dark tan. If you try to get that perfect deep dark tan right away, you will end up with very bad sunburn, and you will do more harm to your skin than good. Start out by tanning twice a week for just twenty minutes per session. Once you’ve started to tan a little, increase the number of times that you tan each week to three times, but not for longer than twenty minutes per session. The most popular tanning bed bulbs are AUVL X-Treme Tanning Bulbs. These bulbs are designed to work in all tanning systems, and there are a variety of bulbs to choose from for both the face and the body. AUVL specializes in UV technology, and they offer a complete line of low-pressure bulbs that emit minimal UV rays, while still providing fabulous tans. Furthermore, the AUVL X-Treme tanning bed bulbs offer a well balanced UVA/UVB ratio, with a range of different phosphors. The bulb life lasts longer than normal as well, and because bulbs are expensive, longer lasting bulbs are necessary – even if they cost a little more than the bulbs that do not last as long.
